Two Months!

I can't believe how fast the time has gone, but Maegan is two months old! She is outgrowing some of her newborn clothes and getting more of a personality by the day. She loves to move around and talk and definitely lets us know when she's not happy. She has her doctors appt Wednesday so I will have to post her stats when I get them. She's not going to be happy since she'll be getting her shots, but hopefully some tylenol will help her with any discomfort. We sure love her!
One of the few times she's actually passive while in the carseat.

With uncle Brian the night before he went into the MTC

I love these little bows! She was just being so much fun that night we couldn't resist taking some of these. She certainly will flirt with the camera when she wants to!

The Best Two Years Begins

This past Wednesday we all went as a family and saw Brian off at the MTC. It was a wonderful experience to see how much he's grown and what a wonderful young man and missionary he will be. I had been holding all my tears in through the past week and thankfully there weren't many that came out when we said our quick goodbye. We'll miss him, but know he's doing what the Lord wants him to. We love you Brian!

Maegan's Blessing

On Sunday December 7 Jeremy had the wonderful opportunity to bless our little girl. She looked so cute in her dress! That morning our car had broken down and so I was just praying that she wouldn't cry through her blessing, or throw up on her dress or something like that. My prayers were answered! She fell asleep just as Jeremy began, and he gave her such a wonderful blessing. Of course that was followed up by a tearful testimony from me as the momma.

This is Jeremy's grandma Sorensen. We were so glad to get a picture of her with Maegan. She is Jeremy's last living grandparent so it made it extra special!

Our happy family...don't you just love her pose?

My aunt Natalie is a great photographer and took some pictures of her about a week before. Here's one of them, when I get the CD I'll post some more. Thanks to all who were able to attend. We appreciate all the family's love and support.

I'm thankful for....

As we celebrated Thanksgiving this year I realized I have so much to be thankful for. Even more so this year now that Maegan has joined our family. I feel so blessed to be a mother. It's challenging, but incredibly rewarding. To some it might seem like I don't have a lot, but I disagree. I have a roof over my head, food to eat, clothes to wear, the gospel, and most importantly, my family. And I'm happy. I love my family. They are so wonderful and have blessed me in so many ways. It was wonderful to spend time with them this week.

Here's a very happy aunt Robyn!

Maegan is my mother's parents first great-grandchild. So here is Maegan with great-grandpa Lyman.

Maegan and Daddy chilling on the couch just before Thanksgiving dinner.

I love this picture! It turned out so cute, even though it's a little distorted. We were visiting my dad's parents and I couldn't resist snapping this. It's Grandma Sue and Maegan! And look at that face!!! It's almost a smile. Maegan has certainly come a long way in her seven weeks. She is holding herself up more, chatting away in her own little language and starting to smile at us. She's even doing better at night. She mostly sleeps for four hours at a time, so I can't complain. It can only get better from here...or at least that's what I keep telling myself.

Our Little Angel

I think all of these pictures prove to me that although we had a little girl, Maegan is Jeremy's girl all the way! She looks like him, snores like him, and even sleeps like him. Not to embarrass him or anything, but he sleeps with his mouth open just like this too! It's incredible!

These are just some fun ones I made Jeremy take the other night while I was burping her. She gets so animated! Her head was just bobbing around and she was just chatting away with us in her own little language. I just love it! It makes those late nights and early mornings so worth it. And doesn't she just look like her daddy?

She rarely cries in the bathtub anymore. In fact the other night she was crying when we were getting her ready for her bath, but the minute she hit that water she was quiet as could be and just let me clean her. Now she even scoots herself down so more of her body can be in the water. We have a little mermaid on our hands! I wonder if she'll be singing "Part of Your World" and splashing around in tub like her mother did in the near future...hmmm.

I can't get enough of those cherub cheeks! THEY ARE SO CUTE!!!!!

Hungry Maegan!

Maegan is so funny when she gets hungry. She will try to eat anything that comes near her mouth. This is what happened the other night when Jeremy's nose got a little too close...yummy huh?

One Month!

We just can't believe Maegan is now a month old! How fast time flies! She is doing very well, sleeping better every day, and is just so much fun. We are looking forward to the next couple of weeks and seeing some real smiles. Lately she's been smiling a lot while she sleeps and even sounds like she's laughing. We think she's dreaming of heaven.

I can't imagine life without my precious daughter. I just love being a mother! Maegan is the most wonderful blessing the Lord could have ever given Jeremy and I. We treasure every moment with her and the spirit she brings to our home. She's brought us closer together and closer to the Lord.

Here's Daddy's little Utah fan. It's a little big on her, but he wanted her to wear it for the game last Saturday. Go Utes!!!

Bath time and Snuggling

Here's our little sweetie again. She is such a cuddler! And she's out cold! She's growing so fast! She's almost nine pounds now! I can't believe it!

This was our first somewhat painless bath. She stopped crying....

For a minute. But when uncle Brian came over for the Utah game Friday night...she made it through her whole bath without crying once! We were so proud!

Halloween!

We were relieved to see that Maegan fit into her Halloween costume! We thought it might be a little bit too big, but it worked out great! Isn't she just the cutest little pink leopard you ever saw! We loved it! As did the grandparents...who were so happy that we came to see them. We had a great night, and were relieved to get home and get to sleep that night.

I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to take this picture. It was way too cute! What a proud daddy!

So Jeremy managed to snap this pic of us. I must have been really tired that day. We both were! Just mommy and Maegan conked on the couch!

So at the request of friends I'm posting some more pics of Maegan. Here she is in one of her many outfits that were given to her for Halloween. I think the cap makes her look like my li'l gansta. Ain't she cute!

So far she's been sleeping pretty good. I'll admit we did have a doozy last night, but this too shall pass. For the most part she lets us sleep for two to three hours at a time. We're still working on making it consistent though. But this is what we normally wake up to in the morning. She's all bundled up to start off with, and then by morning she's wormed her arms out of the blanket. It's funny.
One of her many funny faces. She pulls most of these after we feed her, or after she gets her gas drops. She's having small tummy issues. Her little funny faces make the sleepless nights worth it.
I can't remember who gave us this little onsie, but it says it all! We can't help but smile at her...she is just too cute! And she's growing so fast! She eats and eats! Our friends Tyler and Destiny had their little boy on the 20th and he weighed 6lbs 6 oz. Maegan was huge compared to him, and they are only ten days apart! It's crazy!

Bobble Head

We love to watch her when she's wide awake. She always moves her head up and down and plays with her mouth. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

INTRODUCING!!!!

Maegan Elizabeth Sorensen was born Friday October 10, 2008 at 12:50 am. She weighed in at a whopping 7 lbs 12 oz and 20 inches long. (Maybe it doesn't sound so big to some, but to me it did, and she is just the cutest little chunker!) Here we are just shortly after she was born.

Here's the proud papa! Jeremy is so great with her! He just loves to kiss those cute little chubby cheeks!
I was so excited when they saw her head start to come out! The first question I asked was whether or not there was hair on it. Jeremy told me lots of dark hair! That was enough motivation to push her out as fast I possibly could! And she even has my cowlick! (If I spelled that wrong...oh well!)

When she is awake, she is wide awake! I have a little video of her burping last night that I will post later. She gets these funny looks and bobs her head up and down. It reminds me of ET. And her little lips get all puckered and pursed. It's way cute! Anyway, we are off for her first doctor's appt. I'll post more later.

3 Years Down, Many More to Come!

Yesterday Jeremy and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary. We both can't believe how fast the time has gone and that any day now we are going to welcome our little girl! We took the opportunity to have one last dinner together before we become parents at the Cheesecake Factory. Then we headed home and just relaxed and spent some quiet time together. Our friend Mandy stopped by with more gifts for Maegan. You should see our little girl's wardrobe. I don't even have that many clothes! She's been spoiled rotten in utero. We'll try not to let it get to her head. My due date is today, but we both have a feeling she's going to take her sweet time to get here. If I haven't had her by Friday morning, we'll set an induction date. Don't worry we'll keep everyone updated! Hopefully she decides to come in the next couple of days! We're ready!

Called to Serve...

Brian got his mission call!

Take a look to see where he's going! Then you can scroll down for more.

Called to Serve...part 2

Here it is! In case you couldn't here it over the screaming of his sisters and mother, Brian is going to the Canada Edmonton Mission. He reports to the MTC on December 10. We are so excited for him, and he's slowly adjusting to the idea that he is going to freeze for most of his mission. I'll admit it was the last place I thought he'd go, but we are so excited for him!

10 Days!

So here I am (toting my basketball) with 10 days to go til I'm officially due! We've been getting the nursery ready, packing for the hospital as much as we can and just waiting. I'm finally starting to feel achy and I am tired a lot, though I definitely get bursts of energy for about three hours every other day or so. But I pretty much figure Maegan is going to take her sweet time in getting here. We're learning patience early, which is a good thing. If I don't go into labor before my due date, next Friday will be my last day at work for 12 weeks. It will be nice to have the break, and then I'll go back and work part time. Jeremy is ready to take two weeks off to help out, and I am so glad he'll be here! Now the waiting game begins!

TWO WEEKS!

So we are down to two weeks left. I'm dilated to a one and 70% effaced and rip roaring and rearing to go any time this little girl wants to make her debut! Thursday I thought my water might have broken, but a quick trip to labor and delivery showed nothing, so now we are just settling in for our last two weeks and I'm hoping that it doesn't go longer then that. I'm definitely at that tired stage and ready to have her here.

I want to issue a huge thank you to everyone who attended our showers and for all the wonderful gifts. I had such a wonderful time and appreciate all your love and support!

Comments

I really do enjoy reading family comments on our blog, but for some reason I forgot to turn off the anonymous comment feature. This is now off, so if you want to comment on our blog at all, you will have to be a registered google account holder. This way I can see who you are. For some reason people think it's ok to leave rude comments here without identifying themselves, and I'm not so cool with that. Hopefully this will fix any future problems or I will make our blog private.

A Moment To Vent

So I am going to confess that I am one of those many people who is absolutely in love with Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Series. I own all the books she's written and was anxiously awaiting the release of her companion novel to twilight called Midnight Sun. (It's from Edward's POV.) Anyway, last night I hopped on her website only to find out that someone she'd given a copy to had posted it on the Internet and it's been illegally distributed since then. So now, after anxious waiting, she has put the project on hold indefinitely, and I don't blame her! But I want to scream at whoever decided it was their right to post this illegally! It just makes me mad! And to all those fans out there who couldn't be patient and just wait for it to be done...shame on you! You all had to go and find that illegal copy and read as much as you could. Wrong decision!

There, now I've spoken my peace...I only hope Stephenie will forgive them all and finish writing Midnight Sun so those of us who could be patient will get to enjoy not the partial draft, but the complete and wonderful novel we were all expecting.

A Wedding!!

This past Tuesday my cousin Heather got married to her perfect match Dan! We were blessed to be able to attend the sealing at the Bountiful temple. It was a beautiful day (but really really hot!) and they both just looked wonderful! Here they are after making their debut as Mr and Mrs Pelfrey!

Ahh the trio! This is me, Heather and Heidi. Heidi is going to be getting married in December and we are all looking forward to that! She might be the youngest of the three of us, but as she said at the wedding luncheon, she's still a foot taller!

Jeremy and I took a moment to get a picture in the front of the fountain with our little family. Being at the sealing just reminded me how blessed we are to be sealed to each other and to our little Maegan for time and all eternity.

Here's Dan and Heather's first dance. Don't they just look so in love! It's awesome!!

Get him Heather! Everyone kept saying be nice, but those of us who know Heather well knew there was no way she was going to play it sweet. I will say this though, she went a lot easier on him then I thought she would. They are going to have a wonderful and adventurous life together! Congratulations you two! We love you!

6 Weeks Left!

So here we are with just about six weeks left till Maegan makes her debut! Jer and I can't believe how fast the time has just flown by. I know I don't look that big, but i definitely feel it! She rolls around all the time and just loves to play with my ribs! Jeremy enjoys feeling her when she gives him the opportunity and I just get a kick out of people's reactions to watching my stomach roll and bounce around. Hopefully the next few weeks will fly by as we make some more preparations and attend some baby showers. Thanks to all who have been so loving and supportive to us! We couldn't do it without you!

A Place to Sleep

Our crib finally arrived! We had quite and adventure putting it together because some of the holes were drilled too deep for some of the parts, but after about an hour and some improvising, it came together wonderfully! We also went out and found a mattress. It's so nice to have so much of the big stuff taken care of this early. Now we can just focus on getting the room ready and finding her some clothes and toys, etc. Ten more weeks!
