When July comes it's time for the Grant Family Reunion. Every year save one since I was born my Dad's side of the family has gone up to the Reid Ranch for a three day vaca where we all get to visit, play games, participate in many of the activities found at the ranch, and learn more about our family both living and gone. I look forward to this event every year. I love spending time with my aunts, uncles, cousins and all our children. This year we did miss my mom and sister. She had her tonsils removed the week before and was not feeling well enough to go.
This year was even more fun because we had Maegan. Because our pool at home is still under construction, she had her first swimming experience up there. My dad had so much fun and really got to bond with Maegan since Mom wasn't there. I think he had so much fun. Here he is with her before we went for a dip.

It took her a few minutes to adjust to the idea of being in the water. But once she did, she absolutely loved it! We put her in her floaty and jetted around. She would laugh and splash and kick with excitement. So fun!

The water sure tasted funny!

Hey Mommy and Daddy!

She was soo tired after we finished. I got her out of her suit and into a clean diaper and she was done. I wrapped her in a blanket and she crashed.

That afternoon we went out again and she was much happier when we were done. She was such a trooper.

Since the idea of greasy sunscreen in her hair wasn't all the pleasant for any of us, we opted for a hat. This was the only one she couldn't really pull off. This has to be one of my favorite pics!

She didn't sleep well on Friday night, so neither did we. She and Jer crashed Saturday morning before we left while I engaged in a great game of rook with my uncle Dave against my Grandma and Grandpa.
As many of you know, Jeremy is very talented when it comes to voice impressions. Many of my cousins children know him as Mater from Cars. So before we left they insisted on listening to a few of Mater's classic lines. We're going to have to get some stories for him to read as Mater.

If you ask me, the spud gun is one of the greatest inventions known to man! Since I was pregnant last year I didn't participate in this wondrous activity, so this year I jumped all over it. Let's just say it was a lot of fun. My dad is now the cub master in his stake and working on getting the instructions so he can make one of his own.

Every group that stays up at the Ranch has a picture taken to put on the wall. Our family is growing getting so big, and there were still some members missing this year. To give you an idea of how many there are, my grandparents have 7 children (all are married so add 7 more), 26 grandchildren (half of us are married so add 13 more) and 20 great grandchildren. All together, that's 75. And we are continuing to grow. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family, and that we have the opportunity to get together like we do.

My grandparents with nearly all their grandchildren and great grandchildren.

And this is our little family. I am blessed to have Jeremy and Maegan. I thank the Lord every day for the blessing of eternal families. I couldn't imagine not having them.
