Happy Halloween!

Halloween was a blast this year! After much deliberation we decided we'd go as the Flintstones. Thanks to my mom for helping me with the costumes. Friday night we attended a Halloween party with several of my friends. We had great food, played some fun games, and Maegan made some new friends. Since she was the only baby there, she was life of the party!

What an adorable Pebbles!

Earlier this week I decided I would surprise Jer with tickets to the blackout game. He was ecstatic and last night we left Maegan with his parents and we headed to Rice Eccles Stadium. It was a beautiful night and the weather wasn't too bad. The game itself was rather frustrating as we had some heckling Wyoming fans sitting right behind us, and the U didn't do much until the fourth quarter. Thankfully they won the game. And Jer and I had a fantastic evening with each other doing something we both love.

A Weekend with Friends

We had such a wonderful weekend with our friends! Tyler and Destiny flew in from Florida to be here with their families for their son Tyce's first birthday (he is 10 days younger then Maegan.) They came over to visit with us last Friday night and we talked until almost 1 am! Saturday we had so much fun at Tyce's birthday party. Later that evening we all went out to Jason and Aimee's and had wonderful time with all our kids together.

Here are Destiny and I with Tyce and Maegan.

Tyce climbed up the stairs onto the landing and was having fun making noise at all of us downstairs, so I took Maegan up to join him and this was the result.

I think she was about to sneeze. Tyce was so cute! Destiny warned me that he head butts to say hello, something he learned from his playmates in Florida. So every time they got near each other Tyce was trying to head butt Maegan. I thought it was sooo cute! I think she was about to sneeze when Jeremy took this picture.

Jason and Aimee are the proud parents of Annabella Capri, and Maegan is just in love with her! A couple of days before Aimee went into labor they were over at our house and I asked Maegan where Ellie was. I pointed to Aimee's tummy and Maegan started running her hands all over it, and then put her ear to it. She did the same thing the next night when we got together. Last week Aimee and I spent an afternoon together with our girls. I put Maegan on the bed next to Ellie and she reached down to grab her hand. Ellie then smiled back at her. Aimee was so excited because it was the first time she'd ever smiled in response to someone. I think they were friends in heaven. We are now in the process of trying to teach Maegan to be gentle with her though.

We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends! Two years ago I would never have imagined us all getting together and watching our kids play together. It's so wonderful to be able to share the adventures of parenthood with each other and to raise our kids together!

A First Birthday!

Today Maegan turned one! It was a hard day for her. A couple of days ago she came down with a cold and hasn't been sleeping well. So when we got to Grandma's to set up for the party, she was out cold! Thankfully she woke up just as the great-grandparents started to arrive. Here she is all bundled up in her car seat. So tired...

She didn't take much interest in opening her gifts. She most just wanted to play with things after I opened them. When Grandpa Sorensen brought this over to her, her eyes lit up!

We made her a cupcake, and she didn't really take much interest in it. She daintily picked at the frosting with her fingers for a bit. She finally mashed it in there when I broke it up for her. Then she started throwing it everywhere...on the floor (thankfully we'd put a sheet down) beside her in her high chair...and in her hair and diaper. So we just threw her in the tub to get her clean.

We had a wonderful time with everyone who attended and thank you for your continuing love and support! We love our little Muffin and are just so excited to see her grow and develop. Having a child was the best decision Jeremy and I ever made (besides marrying each other...wouldn't want kids without the marriage part.) Heavenly Father truly blessed us with a miracle when he sent her to us.

Muffin Maegan

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated! School started, Maegan started crawling...soon she'll be walking and I don't know where the last three months have gone!

Our lives have been very hectic the past few months. I started my fall semester and am enjoying my class thus far. I'm taking Biology and doing much better then I thought I would. I'll be glad to have the Christmas break to spend with family though. Jeremy was released from the Sunday school presidency and we are enjoying our 2nd and 4th Sundays mornings together since he no longer needs to attend ward council. I finished my primary program at the end of Sept and am now getting the kids ready to sing in sacrament for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We also purchased a new car last month. Jeremy's Cavalier had been shutting off on him and we finally decided it wasn't worth putting any more money into. So we are now the new owners of a 2007 Kia Spectra, and since it's a manual I am now learning to drive a stick.

Maegan is growing so fast! She started crawling at the end of August, and I'll admit, I'm not sure I'm looking forward to her walking. It's hard enough to keep up with her as it is! She likes to talk to us about everything, and we're looking forward to actually understanding some of the words she is saying. Soon she'll be one!

Playing with her new teeth...she has seven now!

Trying on Grandma Sue's sunglasses.

This was the first time she'd fallen asleep on her own. I was working out and wouldn't pick her up to rock her, so she cuddled up with her care bear.

TOUCHDOWN UTES!! Every time she sees football on tv, she throws her hands up in the air now. I think we've created a monster!

I'm not sure what this face was for, but it's kinda cute, don't you think?

Family Reunion

When July comes it's time for the Grant Family Reunion. Every year save one since I was born my Dad's side of the family has gone up to the Reid Ranch for a three day vaca where we all get to visit, play games, participate in many of the activities found at the ranch, and learn more about our family both living and gone. I look forward to this event every year. I love spending time with my aunts, uncles, cousins and all our children. This year we did miss my mom and sister. She had her tonsils removed the week before and was not feeling well enough to go.

This year was even more fun because we had Maegan. Because our pool at home is still under construction, she had her first swimming experience up there. My dad had so much fun and really got to bond with Maegan since Mom wasn't there. I think he had so much fun. Here he is with her before we went for a dip.

It took her a few minutes to adjust to the idea of being in the water. But once she did, she absolutely loved it! We put her in her floaty and jetted around. She would laugh and splash and kick with excitement. So fun!

The water sure tasted funny!

Hey Mommy and Daddy!

She was soo tired after we finished. I got her out of her suit and into a clean diaper and she was done. I wrapped her in a blanket and she crashed.

That afternoon we went out again and she was much happier when we were done. She was such a trooper.

Since the idea of greasy sunscreen in her hair wasn't all the pleasant for any of us, we opted for a hat. This was the only one she couldn't really pull off. This has to be one of my favorite pics!

She didn't sleep well on Friday night, so neither did we. She and Jer crashed Saturday morning before we left while I engaged in a great game of rook with my uncle Dave against my Grandma and Grandpa.
As many of you know, Jeremy is very talented when it comes to voice impressions. Many of my cousins children know him as Mater from Cars. So before we left they insisted on listening to a few of Mater's classic lines. We're going to have to get some stories for him to read as Mater.

If you ask me, the spud gun is one of the greatest inventions known to man! Since I was pregnant last year I didn't participate in this wondrous activity, so this year I jumped all over it. Let's just say it was a lot of fun. My dad is now the cub master in his stake and working on getting the instructions so he can make one of his own.

Every group that stays up at the Ranch has a picture taken to put on the wall. Our family is growing getting so big, and there were still some members missing this year. To give you an idea of how many there are, my grandparents have 7 children (all are married so add 7 more), 26 grandchildren (half of us are married so add 13 more) and 20 great grandchildren. All together, that's 75. And we are continuing to grow. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family, and that we have the opportunity to get together like we do.

My grandparents with nearly all their grandchildren and great grandchildren.

And this is our little family. I am blessed to have Jeremy and Maegan. I thank the Lord every day for the blessing of eternal families. I couldn't imagine not having them.

The 4th and an Update

Maegan just loves playing with water bottles! I think it's a combination of the movement of the water in the bottle, along with the crinkling sound it makes when she squishes it. She just has so much fun!

See that big smile! It is the most wonderful thing in my world.

She has made a habit of sleeping on her side, so sometimes when she wakes up we get this cute fo-hawk. She's so happy in the morning.
For the fourth of July we went to my parents and lit off some fireworks for Maegan. She watched the first few and then got bored. But she had lots of fun with Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Robyn.

This is my dad. He absolutely adores and dotes on his little granddaughter. I love watching them.

Mom and Robyn love her too. In fact, any time she sees either of her grandparents, she get all excited and starts going "Mmm! Mmm!" and clapping her hands. It's the funniest thing to watch. I tried without success to get her to look at the camera since she her daddy was still lighting fireworks.

All in all it was a fun day! We are so grateful to live in this free nation where we have so many opportunities and freedoms. God Bless America!

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Hello again everyone! We are having an amazing June! We started off the month by attending Nicole and Shawn's sealing, and what an amazing day it was! I would have posted pics, but unfortunately our camera battery was dead at the temple. OOPS! But we also found out that Krystal and Jake will be sealed on Aug 15 and Mary and Travis on July 29. I am so happy for my best friends! What a happy time in their lives!

I am taking one class this summer as I get on my merry way to finishing my pre-reqs for nursing. My goal is to be done and into the Intermountain Healthcare program by 2011. It's not going to be an easy journey, but it will be worth it when I'm done.

Jeremy continues working and taking care of Maegan and I. He is the most wonderful Dad and Maegan just loves him! I found him reading to her one night and I had to snap a picture!

I am in denial about how grown up my baby looks. She turned 8 months old a week ago. How she has changed! It's incredible!

If they ever finish redoing our pool her at the apartments, we will get a chance to get her out into the water. I found these cute suits on sale at Baby's R Us and couldn't resist! She looks great!

She loves to be cuddled when she sleeps. We really have to bundle her up. She also loves sleeping in the lov sac for nap time.

Although you can't see it in this pic, Maegan now has her two bottom teeth! They emerged to our great surprise about 3 weeks ago. I had no idea they were coming cause her gums weren't red and swollen and she wasn't cranky at all. The only clue I had was she stopped sleeping through the night. Hopefully she will be back to that habit soon. We really miss our full nights sleep. But holy cow are those teeth cute!!!

Family Pictures

So as promised, here are some of our family pictures. We just love them! Thanks Nat! We are going to need some again soon at the rate Maegan is growing!

This is our favorite of the three of us!

They eyes have it!

I wonder what she's thinking...

Some funny shots!

I love our cute little family. They bring so much joy to my life. I thank Heavenly Father every day for them!
