A little update...

So sorry it has been so long!  School, work and 2 energetic little girls have not left me much energy to make an effort to update our blog.  I promise I'll post a nice Christmas letter up here so everyone knows what's been going on over the past year.  So far things are good.  I'll be done with my first year of nursing school on 12/12/12 and then get a 5 week break! Jer just got a promotion at work, Maegan loves pre-school, and Lexi is a walking fiend!  She's everywhere!
I'll try to add more later...gotta go study for finals!

A Happy Family!

Just some more pics of what's been going on at our house. I'm a few days and a few tests away from finishing my first semester of nursing school, and I'll be glad for the small two week break before summer semester starts. I miss spending time with my family, but know it will all be worth it when I graduate.

Maegan is a spunky 3 1/2 year old. She is in pre school and loves to learn and play. She loves going to primary and playing with her friends. She sings all the time, and quotes movies like her dad. We were able to get her potty trained a few months after Lexi was born, so she really feels like a big girl now. She is getting picky about what she wears, how I do her hair, and I'm lucky if I can get her to eat! She is always on the go.

These moments are so rare; both of them asleep at the same time during the day!

Big Squeezes!

Lexi is now 8 months old. She babbles and giggles and smiles all the time! (Ok, unless she's hungry, tired or wet.) Her personality is much more easy going then Maegan was at this age, but she is still just as stubborn as her sister. She usually still wakes up once a night to eat (since she won't take bottles while I'm gone during the day) but I don't mind. I love that time to hold her.

I couldn't resist buying the matching easter dresses this year, and I love how they turned out. They had a long day of traveling to see both sets of grandparents. They were pretty tired in this pic.

The Sorensen girls.

Jer is such a proud Daddy. I am so grateful Heavenly Father has blessed me with such a wonderful family. We are far from perfect, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am so truly blessed!

A new adventure begins!

The day after my grandma's funeral I received a much awaited phone call that changed our lives for the better (and crazier!) The week before I had Lexi I applied for Intermountain Healthcare's nursing program cohort through SLCC, and the phone call was to inform me that I had been selected for the program. More emotions overwhelmed me as I'd talked to my Grandma about this 2 weeks previously and she told me she had confidence in me. It was an answer to many of our prayers.
Lexi continued to grow up too fast. This were some of the first pics we took when she discovered her toes, which everyone knows is such an adorable phase!

She really is such a happy girl!

After Christmas we had my friends from high school over for breakfast. I love these people! Mary and Travis (who are standing next to us) are expecting their first child, a boy, in the next few weeks, while Krystal and Jake are in South Caroline while he attends medical school. Shaun and Nicole (on the opposite end of us) are living in Arizona and having lots of fun in the sun. I treasure the times we have together. Hopefully one day we'll all live by each other again.

Some more photos of Lexi.

A Fond Farewell

I mentioned in the post about Lexi's birth that she was born a month after my Grandfather Lyman passed away. Well, two months after she was born my Grandmother was reunited with her eternal companion. She found out on her 77th birthday that she had stage 4 liver cancer, and she decided not to fight it. To say we were heartbroken is putting it lightly. But our family was truly blessed, especially Grandma. She was on hospice at home for only two days before she passed away, surrounded by her children. We had all spent the previous afternoon with her as she lay quietly sleeping, not saying anything in the hospital bed in the front room. I especially had a precious moment with her before I left that night, and I will cherish that forever.

It's been 6 months now, and I can't believe how much I still miss them. It still feels very fresh. I am so glad that I have the knowledge that I will see them again. I am grateful for the sealing power of the priesthood that has joined our family for all eternity.
Grandma and Grandpa, I love you both, and miss you every day!

Playing catch up!

It's been a long time since I've updated our blog. And a lot has been going on! Here's a few pictures to catch you up on the kiddos (don't worry, there will be more to come.)

My sassy Maegan. She is sure full of personality!
Here is our sweet little Lexi. She is just the most precious baby, I mean come on! Look at that perfect face!

Little chub tub!
One of her first smiles. This was right at about 8 weeks old. And they just keep getting bigger!
This was on Sept 25, 2011. We blessed Lexi. She wasn't very happy because she was extremely hungry. Our new little family.
Maegan can't get enough of her little sister! She loves her sooo much!
