Family Reunion

When July comes it's time for the Grant Family Reunion. Every year save one since I was born my Dad's side of the family has gone up to the Reid Ranch for a three day vaca where we all get to visit, play games, participate in many of the activities found at the ranch, and learn more about our family both living and gone. I look forward to this event every year. I love spending time with my aunts, uncles, cousins and all our children. This year we did miss my mom and sister. She had her tonsils removed the week before and was not feeling well enough to go.

This year was even more fun because we had Maegan. Because our pool at home is still under construction, she had her first swimming experience up there. My dad had so much fun and really got to bond with Maegan since Mom wasn't there. I think he had so much fun. Here he is with her before we went for a dip.

It took her a few minutes to adjust to the idea of being in the water. But once she did, she absolutely loved it! We put her in her floaty and jetted around. She would laugh and splash and kick with excitement. So fun!

The water sure tasted funny!

Hey Mommy and Daddy!

She was soo tired after we finished. I got her out of her suit and into a clean diaper and she was done. I wrapped her in a blanket and she crashed.

That afternoon we went out again and she was much happier when we were done. She was such a trooper.

Since the idea of greasy sunscreen in her hair wasn't all the pleasant for any of us, we opted for a hat. This was the only one she couldn't really pull off. This has to be one of my favorite pics!

She didn't sleep well on Friday night, so neither did we. She and Jer crashed Saturday morning before we left while I engaged in a great game of rook with my uncle Dave against my Grandma and Grandpa.
As many of you know, Jeremy is very talented when it comes to voice impressions. Many of my cousins children know him as Mater from Cars. So before we left they insisted on listening to a few of Mater's classic lines. We're going to have to get some stories for him to read as Mater.

If you ask me, the spud gun is one of the greatest inventions known to man! Since I was pregnant last year I didn't participate in this wondrous activity, so this year I jumped all over it. Let's just say it was a lot of fun. My dad is now the cub master in his stake and working on getting the instructions so he can make one of his own.

Every group that stays up at the Ranch has a picture taken to put on the wall. Our family is growing getting so big, and there were still some members missing this year. To give you an idea of how many there are, my grandparents have 7 children (all are married so add 7 more), 26 grandchildren (half of us are married so add 13 more) and 20 great grandchildren. All together, that's 75. And we are continuing to grow. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family, and that we have the opportunity to get together like we do.

My grandparents with nearly all their grandchildren and great grandchildren.

And this is our little family. I am blessed to have Jeremy and Maegan. I thank the Lord every day for the blessing of eternal families. I couldn't imagine not having them.

The 4th and an Update

Maegan just loves playing with water bottles! I think it's a combination of the movement of the water in the bottle, along with the crinkling sound it makes when she squishes it. She just has so much fun!

See that big smile! It is the most wonderful thing in my world.

She has made a habit of sleeping on her side, so sometimes when she wakes up we get this cute fo-hawk. She's so happy in the morning.
For the fourth of July we went to my parents and lit off some fireworks for Maegan. She watched the first few and then got bored. But she had lots of fun with Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Robyn.

This is my dad. He absolutely adores and dotes on his little granddaughter. I love watching them.

Mom and Robyn love her too. In fact, any time she sees either of her grandparents, she get all excited and starts going "Mmm! Mmm!" and clapping her hands. It's the funniest thing to watch. I tried without success to get her to look at the camera since she her daddy was still lighting fireworks.

All in all it was a fun day! We are so grateful to live in this free nation where we have so many opportunities and freedoms. God Bless America!

Hello again everyone! We are having an amazing June! We started off the month by attending Nicole and Shawn's sealing, and what an amazing day it was! I would have posted pics, but unfortunately our camera battery was dead at the temple. OOPS! But we also found out that Krystal and Jake will be sealed on Aug 15 and Mary and Travis on July 29. I am so happy for my best friends! What a happy time in their lives!

I am taking one class this summer as I get on my merry way to finishing my pre-reqs for nursing. My goal is to be done and into the Intermountain Healthcare program by 2011. It's not going to be an easy journey, but it will be worth it when I'm done.

Jeremy continues working and taking care of Maegan and I. He is the most wonderful Dad and Maegan just loves him! I found him reading to her one night and I had to snap a picture!

I am in denial about how grown up my baby looks. She turned 8 months old a week ago. How she has changed! It's incredible!

If they ever finish redoing our pool her at the apartments, we will get a chance to get her out into the water. I found these cute suits on sale at Baby's R Us and couldn't resist! She looks great!

She loves to be cuddled when she sleeps. We really have to bundle her up. She also loves sleeping in the lov sac for nap time.

Although you can't see it in this pic, Maegan now has her two bottom teeth! They emerged to our great surprise about 3 weeks ago. I had no idea they were coming cause her gums weren't red and swollen and she wasn't cranky at all. The only clue I had was she stopped sleeping through the night. Hopefully she will be back to that habit soon. We really miss our full nights sleep. But holy cow are those teeth cute!!!

Family Pictures

So as promised, here are some of our family pictures. We just love them! Thanks Nat! We are going to need some again soon at the rate Maegan is growing!

This is our favorite of the three of us!

They eyes have it!

I wonder what she's thinking...

Some funny shots!

I love our cute little family. They bring so much joy to my life. I thank Heavenly Father every day for them!

Moving and Maegan

So this past weekend we moved from our apartment into a townhouse at our complex. We now have a little bit more square footage, and two floors! But the best part is we don't have to haul a baby, groceries and laundry up three flights of stairs! Our parking spot is right outside the door. And now I actually have a kitchen in which to cook! It's much bigger then our old one, and the appliances are all brand new! I feel as though I am in heaven!

Maegan is our budding princess! She is now sitting up on her own and jabbering away. I am anxious to begin teaching her to sign, so if anyone has any good suggestions of books or videos I would appreciate it. Being a first time mommy I am not quite sure where to start.

A few weeks ago my aunt Natalie met us downtown and we took some family photos. They turned out amazing (she is so incredibly talented) and as soon as I get around to picking up the CD I will be posting those. They are to die for!

She loves her food! Everything we throw at her, she gobbles down, especially her veggies! These pics are for Destiny! No Tyce isn't the only one who ends up a mess after he eats. Maegan never eats without making a mess! And it's so cute to watch!

I love this cute look! Little chipmunk cheeks and pouty lips...who could resist this sweet face?!

She loves to smile, and it makes it so much easier to get up in the early morning when we know she'll be there to greet us with a big grin!

5 1/2 months!

I know I say this repeatedly, but time really does go by so fast. In two weeks Maegan will be six months old. That's halfway to a year! I'm in shock....seriously. She is getting bigger by the day and doing so much. Her newest craze is splashing in the bath tub. If we sit her up, her arms just start pumping and the water flies everywhere! No one is safe, not even the floor.

Right now we are in the process of teaching her to put herself down for a nap. When she gets fussy we let her lay down on the couch and let her go. It's going to take time, but she's doing pretty good. Of course, I have to have my cuddle moments. There is nothing more relaxing then letting a baby sleep on your chest, at least for me. I cherish these quiet moments, as I'm sure any mother does.

We found this dress in her vast expanse of clothing and I loved this hat! She just looks so darn cute. And she didn't even cry or try to take it off. Jeremy bought her sunglasses yesterday (I still have to get a picture of that) and she hates them! She tears them right off her face.

She doesn't love spending time on her tummy, so it's taking some time getting her used to it. But she does love sitting and standing up. Hopefully it won't be too long til she can sit up on her own. That would be immensely helpful.

Just a cute pic of what she looks like post bath time.

Last week after her bath I decided to play with her hair and see how long it was, and this little mo-hawk was the result. Ironically it stayed in her hair overnight and the next day. Her hair is growing in and I am hoping it will be longer soon so I can do some cute things with it.

Foster's Cabin 09

So technically this isn't a cabin picture, but I had to post it! We bought a little chair called a Bumbo to help Maegan with her posture so she can really learn how to sit up on her own and she just loves it! She looks around and observes everything from here! I highly recommend them!

Anyway, moving on to the cabin. We didn't spend the night up there this year for obvious reasons, but went up early Saturday morning. It was lots of fun visiting with family, and Maegan was on her best behavior! These are just a couple of pics we couldn't help snapping and they turned out pretty cute!

This year by the time I got out on the machines, Jeremy had already been, so Robyn and I went out with my dad for some good time quality daddy daughter time, and I thinks it's the most fun we've all had in a long time! We buzzed around on the field and did some small jumps and took a ride around the cabins. Dad certainly challenged us with some terrain we had never faced before, but we pulled it off alright. He even raced us back across the field, and won. If I had been going full throttle I may have stood a chance of beating him. So this was a picture we took of us right after we had come in. Thanks Dad for a wonderful time! It was fun! I love you!

Our family is growing so fast. This is a picture of my paternal grandparents with not even all of their great-grandchildren. The newest is five weeks old. I think by the time we're done having babies this year they are going to have around 25. We are so grateful for family! We're looking forward to the Grant Family reunion in July!

Hi everyone! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get more pics up! Life is going great! We've been doing lots with friends and are excited that Jeremy's best friend and his wife are expecting! It's so much fun to be starting families together! We've been so crazy busy! Maegan is now 4and 1/2 months old and we are getting ready for her next check up in a week.

She has a new habit of falling asleep in her swing, and tends to cling to the tray for dear life even while out like a light.

This pic was just too cute to pass up.

I thought one night I'd see what Maegan would do if I gave her something to hold. The only thing within reach was my carmex. Sure enough the minute her hands closed around it, it went straight into her mouth. We just laughed!

I love little bare bum pics of little babies! They are so much fun! She was being so cute and smiley when we were getting her ready for her bath one night that I turned her over on her tummy, and this was the result. We just love it!
Last night we were watching the Utah basketball game and all of a sudden she just burst out laughing. So Jeremy looked at her and said "Go Utes!" and she started again. We both continued to say this for like 20 minutes and she kept right on laughing! It was the first time we've ever heard her do it and we are so excited. Hopefully soon it won't take so much effort to get her to laugh.
We're excited to see family at the cabin this weekend! I should have more pics soon. And congrats to my friends Nicole and Shawn on their engagement! We're so happy for you!!!
