Family and Fun!!!

This past weekend the Grant side of my family held our annual family reunion at Reid Ranch. It has been a tradition to go there every year to just get away up into the mountains with no TV, no phones or other daily distractions and just visit with each other and catch up. There is lots to do including swimming, mini golf, paddle boating, horseback riding...and this doesn't include the fun we haul with us, including a spud gun, lots of games and some friendly competition when we play volleyball! Even I, "little momma" jumped in and managed to make the through one rotation of the volleyball game. After that I was content to relax on the sidelines and just watch my man go to work!

Here we are cuddled on the chairs while he waits to rotate back in. For the first time since we got up there I was actually cold! I really enjoyed the cooler mountain air and was not excited to come back to 90 degree temps!

And here Jeremy is, ready for action! He certainly is competitive! I wonder where he gets that from? Hmmmm....

This is my cousin Kevin and his wife Lisa's little boy Parker! Jeremy loves to talk to Parker in his Mater (from Cars) voice and so Parker just knows him as Mater. It was fun to watch!

Even Grandma Grant got in on the action!

This year was especially busy for us. We celebrated the engagement of my cousin Heather to her fiance Dan. We held a grocery shower, as is tradition on the Grant side, the first night up and it was fun to hear how they met and fell in love. We also celebrated my cousin Heidi's engagement to her fiance Kurt (if I spelled it wrong Heidi, I'm sorry!) We are looking forward to getting to know him better and hearing their story as well.

It was also exciting to hear that my cousin Tim and his wife Rebecca are expecting their second child in November. That makes four of us this year, and all of us are having girls! Way to go Grant family women!

Jeremy got a special treat when his parents drove up to join us for most of Saturday morning before we went home. We've been telling them about the Ranch for years and thought they should have an opportunity to come and see it. So they drove up that morning, had a tour, visited with my family and ate lunch before they drove us home.

This year went especially quick and we are really looking forward to next year and once again reuniting to share in the love we have as a family!

It was fun to see the picture of Parker hitting the volleyball! I didn't know that anyone took a picture of that. All of us love it when Jeremy does the Mater voice. I am sure your little girl will love it too!
